Best known for his role in the Karate Kid, Ralph Macchio has actually been in more than 30 movies and TV shows. During the 1980’s there were few young stars hotter than Macchio. He was in The Outsiders, Teachers, Crossroads and three different Karate Kid movies. In the mid 90’s his career cooled off, but he now seems determined to make a comeback and Dancing with the Stars Season 12 might be the perfect way to reintroduce him to the public.

Ralph Macchio is now 49 years old and has been recently tackling roles that better suit his age. He was very funny in Beer League and has recently made some guest appearances on other TV shows. Dancing with the Stars Season 12 returns him to prime time and I have a feeling he is going to be very committed to the show and do a good job on it. He should have a lot of fans who grew up on his movies watching so even if it takes him a few weeks to settle in I would expect he and his partner Karina Smirnoff to go deep into competition.

Jennifer Beals Turns Down Dancing with the Stars

She was a maniac on the floor in the movie Flashdance, but don't hold your breath for actress Jennifer Beals to waltz in the footsteps of fellow '80s dance film icon Jennifer Grey and compete on Dancing With the Stars.

"I am not a dancer," says Beals, 47, who currently stars in the Fox drama The Chicago Code. "They asked me and I said 'no.' You could back up a truck to my door filled with cash and I wouldn't do it."

Beals says a visit to the DWTS ballroom a few years ago to support actress pal Marlee Matlin confirmed to her that the show wasn't her cup of tea.

"The sound of the audience is so loud and the energy in there is so intense," Beals says. "I wanted to start crying just in feeling for her. I joked with Marlee and said, 'You don't know how lucky you are you can't hear this.' The noise level is so intense and people's excitement level is so intense. I could never. I'm not that kind of a performer."
